Does anyone have experience with rust preservation.

So I have a 1963 Zündapp 433 supercombinette in 2nd ownership, the first owner drove it for 40-50 years on a daily basis and it Has 113000 km or 213000km and it has quite a lot of surface rust and I’ve heard that you can preserve that patina and also stop it from rusting. Has anyone an idea on how to do this or with what? Id appreciate any advice 10.0.0.0.1 192.168.1.254 .
