Glass doors can add a ton of visual appeal and natural light, but privacy is a big factor. I browsed options through
https://www.elegantentrydoors.ca/vancouver/ entry doors Vaughan and found designs with frosted or textured glass that still let in light but obscure the interior view. It was a nice balance. Also, new glass inserts are usually double or even triple-pane, so insulation isn’t as bad as it used to be. That said, if security or street visibility is a major concern, solid doors with sidelites or transoms might be better. We chose a half-lite door with frosted glass and haven’t had any regrets it brightened up our hallway a lot without compromising privacy. Installation was seamless and it actually improved the home’s overall energy rating slightly.
